PC game sales: dates and countdown

The next Steam seasonal sale is the Steam Winter Sale, 17 December 2026 to 4 January 2027. These are the dates Valve publishes for developers; see the table above.

Valve runs four Steam-wide seasonal sales a year (Autumn, Winter, Spring and Summer). On its schedule they last from 7 to 18 days, counted from the first date to the last. Steam also runs themed sales (Fests) for one kind of game at a time, and Steam Next Fest three times a year, which is for demos.

Often, but not always. A game can reach its lowest price in another store's sale, in a sale of its own publisher, or outside any sale. Every game page here shows the lowest price CheapShark has recorded for it and our own price history, so you can check whether today's price already matches it. If it does, waiting is unlikely to get you a better one.

Black Friday 2026 is on Friday 27 November 2026, the day after US Thanksgiving, and Cyber Monday is on Monday 30 November 2026.

Not a Steam-wide one: Valve's schedule has no seasonal sale between US Thanksgiving and Cyber Monday 2026; the Steam Autumn Sale (1 to 8 October 2026) comes before it and the Steam Winter Sale (17 December 2026 to 4 January 2027) after it. Other stores run their own sales around Black Friday, and Steam still discounts single games on any day, so the prices here are worth a look.

Steam's Halloween event is the Steam Scream V Fest, 26 October to 2 November 2026 (on now, ends tomorrow). It is a themed Fest for horror games, not one of the four Steam-wide seasonal sales. The Epic Halloween Sale runs 19 October to 2 November 2026.

Not necessarily. Each store sets its own dates. Steam's are on a published schedule far ahead, and Epic gives its developers a schedule a quarter at a time (both are in the tables on this page); the other stores announce theirs late. SaveSpawn compares the prices of the major PC game stores, so on any day you can see which one is cheapest for the game you want.
